Father of lights, who brought to birth from waste of waters, ordered earth; from void and darkness, sunlit day; let there be light for us who pray. Let there be light of faith and love, perpetual radiance from above, assuring faith that God is good and love secure in Fatherhood. He does not change; his splendour bright no turning shadow fades to night. His glories burn, his mercies shine, one pure unvaried light divine. Let there be light of heart and mind, the narrow path of truth to find; the Spirit's light that all obey who walk with Christ in wisdom's way. Father of lights, whose glory lies in light unseen by mortal eyes, let there be light for us who call till Christ our light be all in all.
