From the East come the Wise Men to Herod: "Where is he who is born to be King? By the light of a star we have come from a far, our tributes of love to him bring.: In a Bethlehem stable they found him, there in worship, bowed low at his feet, then their treasures unfold; gave him gifts of pure gold. Of myrrh and of frankincense sweet. Said the Wise Men as home-ward they journeyed, "we have found the Messiah To Be, all the world must behold as the prophets foretold, the Gentiles his glory shall see. All the nations shall hail him as Savior, he the One sent from heaven above; all the isles of the earth shall rejoice at his birth: Unspeakable gift of God's love." Still the wise of the earth seek and find him, and the gifts of their love to him bring; still they follow a star. They are lead from afar, and claim him as Savior and King. O the wonder past all understanding, and the deepest of all mystery: In such humble a birth God descended to earth, and reigns now as Savior and King.
