1. When Eden's joys would not suffice, forbidden fruit did then entice, and mortals paid a costly price -- they cast away the prize. 2. The instant taste of sweet delight soon vanished from their present sight; the day had turned to darkest night before their very eyes. 3. The Maker's love is greater still than all the strength of human will; God led them through the dark until the sun again could rise. 4. In God's good time, the Son arose, to rescue us from evil's throes, and grace's breeze now gently blows again through Paradise. 5. Now praise the One whose tender care embraces people everywhere, that in God's goodness all may share; we have regained the prize!
