Father God, who gave us being, foreordained our works and ways, wise beyond our mortal seeing, Lord of all our yesterdays; none can show all we owe, mercies more than mind can know. Countless blessings still surround us, called to Jesus' flock and fold, sharers of the love that found us, all its treasures, new and old; spirits stirred by his word as today his voice is heard. Where that word of life is spoken, there the seed of faith is sown; where the bread of life is broken, there he makes his presence known: Christ the same, in whose Name we his saving death proclaim. Christ, no more the Man of Sorrows! risen now, the Lamb who died, Lord of our unknown tomorrows, King of glory, glorified! to him raise all our days thankful hymns of love and praise.
