The Father knows our human frame, so swift to err, so slow to learn, the dust of earth from which we came, the dust to which we shall return; our shifting purpose, tossed about by every varied wind that blows, our course beset by drift and doubt: all this our Father sees and knows. The Father knows, and loves us yet; for evermore his promise stands, and lest we falter or forget our names are written on his hands. In Christ we died to all our past, in Christ to life eternal rose, in Christ we find ourselves at last: all this our Father sees and knows. The Father knows each inmost heart, what most we seek, resolve, or pray: to follow Christ and take his part and walk with him the narrow way; to bear his cross among his friends, and at the last to be with those who share the life which never ends, whom God our Father loves and knows.
