John Floyd Wilson

JOHN F. WILSON (1929-2014) In 1992 John retired from the Hope Publishing Company where he served as Executive Editor for most of the 28 years of his employment. John was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and holds a master of Music degree in Theory and Composition from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He has been on the music faculty of four different colleges and served as Minister of Music in several Chicago-area churches. He has had over 300 of his compositions and arrangements published, including choral works, collections of piano and organ solos and duets, full-length musicals for children and adults, and instrumental ensemble arrangements. John and his wife, June, live in Valparaiso, Indiana. They have two children and three grandchildren. Somerset Press, the educational division of Hope, published a whole series of best-selling John Wilson children's musicals. The most popular of these is LET GEORGE DO IT, the story of the father of our country. John now holds the title of Editor Emeritus of Hope Publishing Company and all of his published works are available from the company. In 2002 87 of his compositions appear in the Hope catalog.
