Jerry Westenkuehler
JERRY WESTENKUEHLER (b. 1966), a native of Keytesville, Missouri earned the Bachelor of Science in Organ Performance, Music Education and Church Music from William Jewell College (Liberty, Missouri) and the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, Texas). His piano teachers include Sonjya Ownbey and Adele Barnett. His organ teachers include Poppy Koutz, Pauline Riddle, and Albert L. Travis. At William Jewell College and Southwestern Seminary, he rang in the handbell choirs directed by Donald C. Brown and Cynthia Dobrinski. He currently serves Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas as organist and director of the three handbell choirs. As a composer of organ and handbell pieces, his works have been published by MorningStar Music Publishing, Warner Bros., Shawnee Press, Broadman Press, and Alfred Publishing.
In his spare time, Jerry enjoys ceramics, world travel, and spending time with his dog, Buddy.
