Sherer Jr., John W. W.
John William Wagner Sherer, Jr.
JOHN W.W. SHERER, Jr. (b. 1962) added the Wagner to honor his wife's maiden name. Born in Xenia, Ohio, he received his Batchelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati. He received double Master's Degrees from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in both Music and Religion and his Doctor of Musical Arts from The Julliard School, New York City. In 1996 he began as full time Organist and Director of Music at Chicago's prestigious Fourth Presbyterian Church. Here he is responsible for five choirs, a brass ensemble, a dynamic concert series (including eighty musical programs each year) and an annual fall Festival of the Arts. His first published choral composition FPC 137 "O Gracious Light" was released by Hope in 1998.
