Donald F. Marsh

DONALD F. MARSH (b. 1924) was born in Archer, Nebraska and lives today in Lincoln, NE. A United Methodist Pastor he attended the University of Nebraska, Nebraska Wesleyan, Garrett Theological Seminary and Duke Divinity School. Now retired, Pastor Marsh served for many years as pastor in Nebraska, six of them as Superintendent of the Southeast District. Well-known as pianist, songleader and arranger, he led classes in many workshops and seminars on the role of music in worship, with emphasis on congregational participation. Donald Marsh has two children's musicals in the Hope Catalog. First is BARBECUE FOR BEN, the story of the Prodigal Son. Total sales of this musical are now in excess of 50,000 copies. HURRY ON DOWN, is the story of Zacchaeus, and both of these are scored to be sung as unison or in easy two part voicings. Other works of Mr. Marsh published nationally include the musicals, LET'S TELL THE WHOLE WORLD, HE IS GOD'S YES, ALONG THE ROAD WITH JESUS, JUST ASK PAUL, and LIVE IN PEACE. Recently published were two volumes of piano embellishments of hymns for accompanying congregational singing called THE GOSPEL PIANIST, Vols. 1 & 2.
