Robinson, Lillian H.
Lillian Horton Robinson
LILLIAN HORTON ROBINSON (1911-1998) was born in Hamburg, New York. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory with a B. Mus degree she did graduate studies at Vassar College. She married the Rev. Paul R. Robinson, a Baptist minister who initiated the Missionary Technical Department which he Directed at Chicago's Moody Bible Institute. Lillian was a substitute organist in the Chicago area for many years, playing at Moody Memorial, Fourth Presbyterian, North Shore Baptist and St. Paul's Episcopal Church to name a few. In 1963 Hope Editor, Donald Hustad, prevailed upon her to put together a collection of simple prelude material she had extracted from "L,'Organiste" originally written for harmonium (no pedal board) by the distinguished French composer Cesar Franck. Entitled EASY SERVICE MUSIC, Code No. 291, this collection of sixteen selections plus Amens, is as popular today, as when it was first published.
