H. Glen Lanier

H. GLEN LANIER (1925-1978) was born in Statesville, NC. A graduate of High Point College (NC) he received his M.Div. from Duke Divinity School, Durham, NC. Ordained in the United Methodist Church, he served pastorates in Wilkesboro and Statesville, North Carolina. Author of more than a thousand poems, seventeen of his hymn texts have been published by The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada. The Hope Publishing Company acts as agent for these hymns. In 1995 the General Conference of The Mennonite Brethren Churches published his hymn on aging "O God, Your Constant Care and Love" in their new hymnal WORSHIP TOGETHER. This same hymn is #503 in Hope's new hymnal WORSHIP & REJOICE (2001).
