BRIAN RICHARD HOARE (b 1935) was born in Upminster, Essex, England. A graduate of Westminster College and Richmond College, both in London, he is now a retired Methodist minister. He served in the Hull Mission circuit (1974-77) as New Testiment Tutor at Cliff College, Derbyshire (1977-86) and as Secretary for Evangelism (1988-2000). A member of the committee that compiled HYMNS & PSALMS (1988) the hymnal for the Methodist Church in England, he is also a member of The Jubilate Hymn Group. Hope acts as their agent in the U.S. and Canada. His millennium hymn "Two Thousand Years Since Bethlehem" appears as hymn #540 in Hope's new hymnal WORSHIP & REJOICE (2001).
