Help us, O God, each day to know your presence through created things: when crickets chirp, or soft winds blow, in fresh-cut grass where sweet dew clings. But most of all your love we find in people honest, true, and kind. In every person may we learn to recognize some special worth, to lay aside the world's concern with looks or wealth or place of birth, to move beyond what may seem odd and find within a child of God. Enlarge our sense of what can be: inspire each mind and fire each heart to set imagination free, raise strength to skill, and nourish art; yet may all gifts be understood as valued for the common good. So teach us how to love the truth that we may seek it all our days: sustain the eagerness of youth with wisdom's strength through life's long maze. And when our search, O God, is done, show us that you and truth are one.
