Give thanks for wolf and bird, for chirp and howl, for coo and growl, for praise without a word from wood and glen, from nest and den. Give thanks to God, our creator. Give thanks for jungle cats who sit and purr in yellow fur. Give thanks to God for bats who need no sight to pierce the night. Give thanks to God, our creator. Give thanks for those who sing: the nightingale, the humpback whale. Enjoy the sounds they bring. They live each day as if to say: Give thanks to God, our creator. Sing praises for the shark who swims the sea. (But don't eat me!) Sing praises for the lark who lightly soars all day outdoors. Give thanks to God, our creator. Then let us learn to be like doves of peace who never cease to praise the mystery; and like the lamb who says, "I am," in praise of God, our creator.
