As six-wing'd seraphs volleyed praise across the Temple's vaulted frame, Isaiah glimpsed God's sovereign pow'r; but awe soon turned to fear and shame. An angel then with searing coal burned off his guilt and set him free to hear God's call and to respond, "Lord, here am I; send me, send me." Still grant us through our worship, Lord, such moments, piercing and sublime, when vision, pardon, and resolve combine to thwart the bounds of time. Ignite us with your fire of love, unmesh the snares of sin we weave, and give us for your glory's sake the grace to live what we believe.
