O Lord, you have searched me; O Lord, well you know me. When I sit and when I rise, you my ev'ry thought surmise; when I lay me down to sleep, You my precious soul will keep. I climb to the heavens, descend down to Sheol. In the morning I take wings, o'er the sea my spirit sings; even there your hand holds me fast, and the darkness does not last. And I ask in wonder: Refrain You formed me, Creator; you knit me together. While within my mother's womb, soul and body found their room; you could see my hidden frame, and the days my life would claim. And I ask in wonder: Refrain. O God, search and know me; test heart, mind, and spirit. See what wickedness is there as you lay my story bare; lead me in the proper way until darkness turn to day. And I need not wonder:
