The God who placed the sun and moon, magnificent and grand, has been the One whose sovereignty established them to stand throughout the ages known to us, and will continue still to oversee our days and years, God's purpose to fulfill. We focus on the measurement of time as if to say that history is ours' to make on any given day. yet time for God is less about the minutes and the hours as faithful true obedience, the kind God's strength empowers. We mark each new millennium with fanfare brightly raised, as if the gift of each new day's unworthy to be praised; forgetful that a thousand years for God is but one day for us to spend in loving deeds, in worship, work, and play. Your kingdom come, your will be done, O Lord, on earth until the angels who await your word announce the time fulfilled; when all our ways of marking time and season cease to be due to the coming of our Christ who brings eternity.
