All we asked you gave and more,
then you opened every door,
and you blessed us with the freedom that we craved.
The love of God is very great,
the love of God is very deep,
the love of God is never ending, come what may.
Lord, we left you far behind,
tried to drive you from our mind,
spent our life in living high and recklessly.
Now our very souls are worn,
we are restless and forlorn,
and we know this isn't how it ought to be.
Not a penny to our name,
only hunger, only shame;
do we dare to call you Father once again?
Will you meet us on the way
as we journey toward the day
when the dead return to life, the lost are found?
