O God, you made this wondrous world, it's land and sea and air, with all that live and grow herein; you placed them in our care. Recipients of your bounty, Lord, by luxury beguiled, O may we not stand idly by and see your world defiled. While all earth's bounteous riches, Lord, supply our every need, let not our fellow creatures fall the victims of our greed. Forbid that we despoil your gifts unmindful of the cost, lest through our wanton wastefulness both they and we be lost. May love control our work on earth, enabling its great power to bring your grand creation, Lord, from bud to perfect flower. May we accept our stewardship with humble, thankful hearts, with diligence and wisdom which your grace alone imparts.
