Grief waits before the tomb and seeks the dead inside, but earth does not have room to hold the one who died. Faith turns away from death and night and sees, beyond grief's tear-dimmed sight, a door wide open to the light. Christ is our open door, and hope is unconfined! Like birds uncaged we soar towards God's love, to find the whole creation reconciled, and every soul through Christ revealed as God's uniquely precious child. The Church will open doors to let the people in, where wounded souls can pause, at rest from grief and sin; where each will find a fruitful place within the fellowship of grace, and recognize God's human face. The Church will open doors to send God's people out, where daring love explores the poles of faith and doubt; the Holy Spirit meets us there, whose searching and persistent prayer will conquer evil and despair. Let doors be opened wide, and let us come and go; made one with Christ who died, we live with him, to show the promise of eternal grace: God's justice set in time and space, each wanted child in love's embrace.
