We live in a topsy-turvy world-- so many things awry. A few of us have much too much while others beg and cry. A few of us wear golden rings, we trust in vain and foolish things, and all the while, the King of kings is on his way to die. We live in a raggle-taggle world-- a world in disarray. We haven't time for those we love, we haven't time to pray. And yet we've time to go to war, and time for things we should deplore; but still He loves us evermore no matter how we stray. We live in a helter-skelter world-- so many things askew. We sing of love and joy and peace but none of it is true. We court the rich and scorn the weak, we cannot find the peace we seek, yet God's own Son, a Lamb so meek, could give us life anew. We live in a razzle-dazzle world-- and close our eyes to pain. We dance along the road of life to any sweet refrain. We cannot hear His tender call, we cannot hear His voice at all, but if we stumble or we fall He lifts us up again.
