When Abraham at seventy-five
is told ' Get up and go!'
he knows the voice that speaks, but not
the land that God will show.
He hears the promise from the Lord
to bless him on his way,
and he will be a blessing too
for many from that day.
With all his household he sets out
in swift obedient faith;
he marks a place to worship God,
the Lord of all the earth.
So bless this household, mighty God
who made us yours by grace;
Holy Redeemer, let us be
a blessing in this place!
For seventy-five historic years
we owe you thanks and praise;
keep us obedient to your word
and faithful in your ways.
As we make space to worship, serve,
and learn from Scripture's page,
your Gospel sets our future course,
built in at every stage.
So fill our hearts with love for Christ
who came to free the slaves
from sin, and death, and wrath to come;
he died, he lives, he saves!
