Our God, who through another day
     has given life and light,
draw near to bless us as we pray,
     before the coming night.

Give all in Christ, who sleep or wake,
     to know their sins forgiven,
at peace with God for Jesus' sake,
     as citizens of heaven.

And if another day be ours
     direct its words and ways;
tomorrow's life with all its powers,
     be service, love and praise.
