When all was dark and formless, God spoke and there was light. God's word called forth this planet and worlds beyond our sight, our earth's resplendent beauty and nature's pageantry, each country, every culture a living tapestry. We marvel at God's wisdom in all of life displayed and gaze in growing wonder at all that God has made. To those in need of healing Christ comes and hopes revive; his deeds proclaim God's mercy, the poor and outcasts thrive. His care is for creation, by reckless hands defiled; his cross brings foes together, at peace and reconciled. A love so all-embracing we seek to comprehend, to share in its unfolding, love's story without end. Inspiring and empowering, the Spirit bids us raise, in place of Babel's discord, a Pentecost of praise. May teachers, poets, artists, conductors of the choir, may organists and singers and each of us aspire to see our work as worship that hallows all our days as all rejoice together in wonder, love and praise.
