God, you made the mighty waters, restless in their play, fashioned us, your sons and daughters, from the lifeless clay. By your will, by your word, you made earth and each living thing, day and night, sun and moon, all the morning stars that sing. Christ, you entered human history, to redeem your own. You, in what remains a mystery, took our blood and bone. At a birth, in a town, in a stable, crowded and cold, came a child, one of us, one whose story still is told. Spirit, you are still creating, making all things new. Praying, longing, we are waiting for what you will do. Fill our hearts with your love, make us signs of hope for today, bringing joy, bringing peace, as we live your holy way.
