Look upon us, Lord, in blessing,
warm the heart that hears your call,
Christ the Son of God confessing,
King of kings and Lord of all:
God who gave
Christ to save
in him vanquished death and grave.
Christ it is who walks beside us,
living Way and Truth divine,
with his open word to guide us
and the scallop-shell as sign:
day or night,
dark or bright,
Christ our Love, our Life, our Light.
By the Spirit's gift imparted
may his risen life be ours,
in his service single-hearted,
mind and will and all our powers;
called to pray,
love like him a world astray.
Father God, unite and send us,
one in faith with Christ as Head,
as one company befriend us,
sharing wine and broken bread,
Christ who came,
heralds of his saving Name.
Best of all, through joys and sorrows,
God is with us to the end,
Lord of those unknown tomorrows
which his providence may send:
so we raise,
all our days,
songs of glory, love and praise.
