God, stir compassion in our hearts
for refugees from war-torn lands,
who cross rough seas and hope to ?nd
a place where someone understands.
The human family now is torn
by fear, suspicion, hate, and war.
How can we claim to follow Christ,
yet turn away and shut our door?
Help us emerge from blinding fear
and waken to our present need,
to welcome ways, both great and small,
to live our faith in word and deed.
God, give us courage to create
a path to peace both fair and just,
to banish war and build a world
that bridges differences with trust.
