Rejoice in God who once upon a time (before all time!) took love to shape a dream and let it wake into the cosmic Word that named the earth, with love as living theme. Give thanks to Christ who calls us to be one and shares our human-ness to show us how to keep the dream alive, the vision clear: a world at peace, the human race at play. Pray that the Holy Spirit will pro(!)ceed,* em-powering us to see Christ's mission through and set the dream to song, en-act the Word, put flesh on hope, make God's intent come true. Let not, O God, the vision we have caught fade as we rise, nor let it die away; give us the faith with passion to pursue that dream's fulfillment in the light of day. *From the Nicene Creed: '... the Holy Spirit... who proceeds from the Father and the Son.' The Latin 'procedere' has such a subtle variety of meanings - to go forward, advance, go on, continue, turn out, make progress, succeed - all sounding rather future-orientated, and thus meriting an exclamation mark, even in the middle of a word!
