For the coming of the Savior who would reign on David's throne, free God's people from oppression, and restore their heritage; Israel looked with expectation for the dawning of that age, and we share their sense of longing: in their hope, we see our own. By the coming of the Savior who is present with his own in the sacraments and scripture, and the bidden calm of prayer; Christians still this truth discover and a timeless blessing share greater than sheer thought can fathom: for by faith is Christ made known. At the coming of the Savior who in splendor will be known when he vanquishes Death's legions, and returns to reign in might; all the world at last shall witness how God's judgment can unite truth with mercy, peace with justice: joined in love through Christ alone.
