Our fathers lived by faith, Set free from self and sin, By faith drove demons out, By faith drew outcasts in: And left the Church a heritage That shames a disbelieving age. What Godlessness destroys Faith labours to restore; Where doubt sees only change, Faith finds and open door: And all who come to Jesus prove It's faith that makes the mountain move. Then let us place ourselves In god's creative hands, Anchored in faith, but free To do what he commands: Not prisoners of our heritage but born to serve the present age. What need have we to wait For other to advance, For tides to turn, or folk Be easier to convince? The time is now, and he is our, With all his Spirit's might powers.
