Hosanna! Come and see One born for you and me: Maker of all things on his Mother's knee! Then keep this Festival And thankfully recall Christ lived and died and rose again for all. Look how he stoops to such as I, To raise us up and lift us high! Look how he shares his glory By laying glory by! By dying he has sweetened death, By rising fortified our faith. By giving us his Spirit Filled us with his own breath. He who in manger lies, Is he the one who dies Whom each man in his own way crucifies? What miracle is this, That we should come to bliss Through such a sacrificial love as his! We need not wait one instant more For Christ is knocking on the door; So this day let us welcome This Child whom we adore. Now shall the heedless learn their need; Now shall our captive souls be freed, And each of us find selfhood Through Christ's atoning deed.
