1 This world had great rewards to give and counts achievements high, but all its honours and delights can never satisfy. 2 For love of God I count as loss my profit and my pride; there's greater gain in knowing Christ than all the world beside. 3 For Christ has made me right with God, his merit now is mine; and faith alone joins me to Christ by his supreme design. 4 His is the strength by which I live; his risen life I share; and if I want to rise with him I suffer with him here. 5 I have not yet obtained the prize, complete in heart and soul, but turn my back on what is past and reach for Christ, my Goal.
