For times when vision fails us, when greed becomes our guide, when thoughts of profit lead us to plunder and divide; when we refuse to nurture this earth from which we live, we plead in shame, in sorrow, forgive, O God, forgive. For finite treasures ravaged, for beauty laid to waste, for earth's resources squandered in mindless acts, in haste; for times when we have sullied creations you called good, forgive, and train your stewards to serve you as we should. United us, God, in purpose till will and strength are one, as we make restitution for evils we have done. Bring healing to our thinking that we in turn may heal; restore at last our vision as we before you kneel. May all creation show us the image of your face; upon the winds and waters, may we your footprints trace; let every field and woodland reflect your essence true; in all that meets our vision, O God, may we meet you.
